Gifted Children
Have faith in your parental skills No matter what your educational background, you have a lot to teach your gifted child. Morals, discipline and sensitivity to others are traits all children need to learn — no matter how great their innate talents.
Look for learning opportunities You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to keep an exceptionally bright child stimulated. Look for activities that are local and free. Take short trips to nearby libraries, museums, zoos or natural wonders such as caves, fossil beds and waterfalls.
Play games All kids love games. Scrabble and Monopoly challenge your child and allow you to be a family.
Get wired The Internet can supply you with information that can help support and encourage you and your child. There are many learning resources for gifted children and their parents that you may want to explore; many offer information about academic-enrichment programs.
